0800 and 0808
FREEPHONE is the most powerful tool for any company wanting to maximise the leads and sales generated from press, TV and radio advertising. Paying for customers to call you is a clear signal that you want their business. You absorb the full cost of customers calling your number.
020 and other 'Geographic' Numbering
An 020 number gives you a 'geographic' presence, wherever you are actually based. A small charge is payable for delivery of the calls, but the cost to you is substantially lower than using a FREEPHONE number, you get online call statistics, and you can also receive texts on these numbers.
0845 – Caller is charged at local rate
0845 Local Rate offers the same benefits as a FREEPHONE 0800 number, but splits the cost of calls between you and your callers. 0845 can also discourage 'time-wasters', as they have to pay for the call.
0844 Fixed Tariff - Caller is charged up to 5 pence per minute
A 0844 Fixed Tariff number is often used in preference to an 0845 Local Rate number. The tariff is fixed at a rate up to 5 pence per minute by the network operator (Syntec) and generates revenue on inbound calls. Choosing 0844 instead of 0845 can significantly enhance your telecoms revenue, particularly if you receive traffic during evenings or week-ends.
0870 - Caller is charged at national rate
A National Rate 0870 number provides a national presence and can also generate a revenue stream. 0870 is often used by large travel call centres, banks and companies selling premium products who wish to discourage enquiries from callers who are not sufficiently interested in the product offered to pay the price of a national call.
0871 Fixed Tariff – Caller is charged up to 10 pence per minute
An 0871 Fixed Tariff number is often used in preference to an 0870 National Rate number. The tariff is fixed at a rate up to 10 pence per minute by the network operator (Syntec) and generates higher revenues on inbound calls than the 0870 alternative; dramatically more at evenings and week-ends.
Personal (070) and Corporate (055) numbering – Caller charges vary
These number ranges are used for a variety of purposes, primarily of the follow-me type. Syntec has a range of tariffs available - call for further details.
Premium Rate Numbers - 090 - Caller charges vary
There are a wide range of Premium Rate applications, of two broad types:
Recorded services -- giving the caller either passive or inter-active access to recorded information, e.g. weather reports, financial updates, sports results and horoscopes Live services -- one-to-one live dialogues between the caller and the service provider, e.g. customer help lines. Callers to premium rate numbers may be charged per call or per minute, depending on the range and tariff. Syntec provides a wide variety of options from fixed charge numbers at 50p, £1 and £1.50 per call and pence per minute numbers tariffed from 10p - £1.50 per minute. The revenue generated is shared between the network operator (Syntec) for the carriage of the call, and the service provider (Our client) for payment of content, product or service. Callers pay for premium rate calls via their standard telephone bill.
